Another brick in the wall (part 2)
We don't need no education
We don't need no thought control
No dark sarcasm in the classroom
Teachers leave the kids alone
Hey teacher leave us kids alone
All in all it's just another brick in the wall
All in all you're just another brick in the wall
(chorus at end by pupils from the Fourth Form Music Class Islington Green School, London)
We don't need no education
We don't need no thought control
No dark sarcasm in the classroom
Teachers leave the kids alone
Hey teacher leave us kids alone
All in all you're just another brick in the wall
All in all you're just another brick in the wall

Why is it that teachers are so afraid to let loose a little bit and allow their students to control a lesson, discussion, the classroom? The thought of not having most of the power is evening frightening to me, but at this point in my education, I see it as the most valuable way for students to learn and actually apply what they have learned. What is it that we as future educators are afraid of?
Thanks for posting the lyric. All too important for us to heed. Here PF are constructing the "implied" student--a la Alvermann...interesting!!
Thanks for posting these lyrics! It makes me agree more that the power should be shared between the students and the teacher. There is so much that we can learn from each other, rather than me pretending to know everything and being the only "teacher" in the class.
Hi Willis, what's new??? Last week's blog quiz?
We missed you at Lehman--it was an interesting trip for us.
How did you do in the game?
